Thangu is a small village 30 kms beyond Lachen, on the way to Gurudongmar Lake. Thangu experiences severe cold during the winters and even in the months of June and July, the daytime temperature ranges betw

een 4 to 12 degrees Celsius.

The months of May toAugust sees the valley carpeted with wild alpine flowers which get replaced by snow with the onset of winters. Generally the village remains snow clad from October to May.

The beauty of the village cannot be described in words especially in the months of April and May when the entire valley turns into valley of flowers. The sight leaves one totally awestruck.
